reflections

My favorite thing about photography is stopping something in nature so I can look it again in all its detail and glory. Einstein said: "The face of God is reflected in nature". Photography helps you see this.

I love taking photos of the ocean in all its' moods, it's very similar to surfing. I enjoy riding the waves with my eyes when I'm taking the photo and again when I'm looking at the processed image. I began photographing the ocean when I was a child. I was drawn to it for its beauty and it continues to draw me in today.

I've done a small amount of commercial work with my girlfriend Michele Lockwood's clothing company MATERIAL. I enjoy working with Michele because we're always immersed in nature. We go to beautiful parts of the world to photograph the clothes. This is enough in itself.

I'm also in the process of a children's book with Californian artist Andy Davis called 'Way of The Bird'. Andy has drawn the characters from the book over different photographs I've taken. It's a really fun combination of the two mediums. It reminds me of something you did when you were a kid - drawing yourself inside an empty wave.

The photography that's for sale on this site is from my collection of waves. They are signed and numbered originals from a limited edition series. They come in all sizes and colours, and can be custom ordered to suit any space. They're beautiful moments in the ocean from its infinity of moods.
