Bloods On Your Shadow
How's about you love something so hard you don't understand.
How's about you love that something without any kind of plan.
Oh, they say that you be dreamin' they say that you be damned.
When a man he ain't got nothing to love, he ain't got nothing,
He ain't got nothing, he ain't got nothing but blood on his shadow.
How's about you love a girl so hard you don't understand.
How's about you love that girl without any kind of plan.
Oh, they say that you be dreamin', they say that you be damned.
When a man he ain't got nothing to love, he ain't got nothing,
He ain't got nothing, he ain't got nothing but blood on his shadow.
They say you are a fool in love they say that you are blind.
They say you've got to lie in love to keep your love from dying.
But a man who never put his faith in love and he never started trying
well, he ain't got nothing, no he ain't got nothing, he ain't got nothin'
He ain't got nothing but a blood on his shadow.
Inner Moment
The window's caught the light, as the sun moves round from summertime
I'm woken in the night by a cold that's moved into the town
And thoughts come rushing in of all the time and sin
I replay them over and over and over again.
Now I'm looking through mirrors, wanting your Mothers smile
And I'm wrecking the pillars of all that's ever been
So where is it you've been, while I've been sitting at the trial?
And what is it you seen, that's gonna keep my arse from frying baby?
So every day is new
In a moment you could walk into
There's nothing without you
I know this is enough for you
You're the mirror I look through into
Girl you're the mirror I look through into
If They Only Knew
Old man singing tunes, bending like a willow tree
If he only knew how much of him is me
Full moon on the rise, circle of city trees
The old man sings a lullaby
Tonight's the night she falls asleep on me
Been threatening rain all day, bats howling in the trees
The old man sings a tune he's been singing since '63
Could be those times have changed, still noting stays the same
The old man sings the blues, In the pouring rain
Who's gonna save you and who do you love?
Yeah who's going to save you and who do you, who do you love?
Who do you love?
Waiting for the wind to blow, show is over time to go
Old man singing in the street, empty bottle at his feet
What is given what is gone, lonely eyes salute the dawn
Choices made and coins are tossed, fate's a friend until you're lost
Yeah who's gonna save you and who do you love?
Yeah who's going to save you and who do you, who do you love?
Who do you love?
These old men singing tunes bent beyond belief
Oh if they only knew how much of them is me
Who do you love?
Who do you love?
Speechless
I get up in the morning and I ain't got nothing to say
Yeah I get up in the morning and I ain't got nothing to say
It has been this way forever, forever and a day
Then I go out to lunch and I haven't said a word
Yes I got out to lunch and I haven't said a word
It's the story of my life, so obviously you've heard
Well I could go out lookin' on those lonely streets at night
I could go out lookin' for that girl that is so right
But I spent my time a lookin', dancin' showing off my wears
Still I know my good God he loves me I'm sure she'll show me how he cares
So I stay in, in the evening and it is still the same
Yes I stay in, in the evening and it is still the same
Yes all this conversation damn near drives a man insane
The Dice Already Thrown
Why can't we remember what it is that's wrong?
And when did we surrender to the drugs that we have done?
Standing in the window the rain goes on and on
It's everyday I miss you, how the seeds were sewn
How the seeds were sewn
Flying on a weekday nowhere to call home
Tryna find just one way, you're fighting it alone
The doctor says that you'll pay, for everything you've done
You say it's only one day, just one more day of fun
You're always on the run, always on the run
In a field that's golden, tricking the unknown
Tripping at the edge, the dice already thrown
The inspector says it's over, He tells me on the phone
We had no other number, how the seeds have grown
How the seeds have grown
Oh how I wish you could come back
Oh how I wish you could come back
Lord how I wish you could come back
Lord how I wish that you could come back
Now the days walk by like soldiers, marching to the sun
Each day I am older
Each day you are none.
Before You I Stand
So far away yet so close to home
So lonesome in this world yet never alone
Born of the spirit death at the door
You rest in my heart on the inner most floor
Well I seen you exposed torn to the bone
I seen you in rags that riches have sewn
And I seen you humbled when no-one could speak
You salvation I pray for so you're never weak
For the valley of darkness I tread with lost feet
I fall and I stumble I'm dead and I'm beat
But Father he holds me his hands rest my head
We slip to a place that the darkness has fled
And it's you that is standing alone on the hill
I fall to my knees and give up my will
And rise in your blessing you hold out your hands
I look in your eyes and it's before you I stand
Yeah I look in your eyes and it's before you I sand.
Cow
I'd hate to be a cow
I'd hate to be a cow
Hate to be a cow
Hate to be a cow
They take you in from the grass, they put you down and they cut you up
Yeah they cut you up
They take you down to the shop, they wrap you up now you're a chop
Yes you are you're a chop
I hate to be a cow
Hate to be a cow
Hate to be a cow
Hate to be a cow
Scotch fillet, T-Bone steak, Sausage Roll, Meat Pie, Leather Lounge,
Veal Shank, Beef Burger, Maccas Fries,
Hot dog, Rump steak, Sour Cream, Biker Boots
These are things you'll be if you are
If you are a cow
I wanna be a cow
I wanna be a cow
I wanna be a cow
I wanna be a cow
Sit around, chewing grass you got nothing to say
That's okay
By the road by the fence
You just chew, you just Moo, you just poo
But that's you
That's you you doop and poo
Moooooo...........
Massacre
Heard on the news this morning Australia's worst massacre
35 dead in Tasmania
Did they forget? How'd they forget?
Does it take a man to get a gun to shock everyone?
Isn't it enough to look back on what we've done?
A new government comes in their policies white as sin
White skin - white sin
Maybe it's news to you what the White fella can't undo
He killed the Blackman took his land
And he buried the children and he raped the women
And he left them with alcohol in their hands
So before you confront me
With your fucked up T.V.
And before you ask me to grieve for one hideous gesture from some man
Take your mind back
Take your mind back and know
That it wasn't the worst massacre in this blood stained land
Our history bleeds massacres
Our history's full of massacres
And there's an on going massacre in this sacred land
Shopping Mall
I went out the other day
To a shopping mall that was on the way
It was the craziest thing that I'd ever seen.
There were people buying diamond rings
There were things I didn't know were things
There were caged up birds with useless wings
And a T.V. sets that were made for kings they had it all
Yeah they had it all
Well I found myself in a department store
There were kids everywhere asking for more
The exit sign was on the 13th floor and I couldn't work it out
So I started grabbing this and I started grabbing that
The next thing you know I had myself and electric cat
There was this woman coming down the aisle she was so unbelievable fat
That I had to turn around
And I ended up in the hardware section
There were men walking around with semi erections
The prime minister was there he'd made the connection
Said I'm gonna put a tax on tools
I said why wouldn't ya!
You might as well put a tax on fools
Well they were there - They were everywhere!
Well the whole dang thing was a blowing my mind
When I had a moment of clarity and I began to climb
The giant hotdog that was situated in the middle of the mall
It was from atop of that hotdog I could see it all
All the confusion and all of the waste
The fluroscent lights tweeking everyone face
All the women that were lost in a place of someone else's mind
And the men buying liquor to get away from it all
Carrying their beer like the once held a football
Heading home to the sofa to watch the game and passing out
And it was there that I lost it on top of that hotdog stand
I was a screaming and a yelling and a waving my hands
Saying 'You've all gone crazy - somebody call the cops'
And the cops came down to the shopping mall
They were shaking that hotdog tryna get me to fall
As I fell from it's peak I toppled into the wall
And knocked myself out
And I woke up bleeding in a padded cell
The cop came over and he began to tell
'Where letting you out son, but remember one thing.
You never saw anything. No you didn't.
You never saw anything.
Don't go making trouble round here no more you crazy fool.
You never saw anything'
Eternity
Like a shell that tumbles in the tide
Like a man that's long for something that he can't find
Touch me like the wind know not from where you came
Sometimes I feel the same
Like the dust that tries to hide the sun
Like the distractions in this world that keep bringing me undone
Touch me with your name no not from where you came
Somehow I feel the same
Somehow I feel the same
For I falter and I fall on this road on which I walk
I've done so many foolish things based on the words that men have talked
And I listened to myself when I knew that I was wrong
I have traveled to the ends but the train keeps rolling on
And the pleasures I received like governments they deceive
I was not left alone when I drifted in the seas
And I have never felt so empty when I filled my life on greed
There is nothing in this world that hasn't left me on my knees
So I will follow you into Eternity
I will follow you into Eternity
I will follow you into Eternity
I will follow you...
You Are The People
Don't care for system planning getting in my way
Don't care for governments and the grounds on which they prey
A woman she's standing
She's got the strength to say
I am a woman
Believe in the woman
Yes I am a woman
Believe in the woman
Don't care for riches and the men that fly the flag
Don't care for slavery crimes that still exist in modern man
Boy he is standing his ideas in his hand
Holding the freedom
Believe in the freedom
Honesty of freedom
The innocence of freedom
Don't care for suppression of cultures
Watch a culture die
Don't care for the ideas of men who perpetrate genocide
Black man he is standing White man holds his hand
'We are the future we love and understand
Yes we are the future in the history of man'
Don't care for the rape of the earth
As developers sing their songs
The extent of their minds is as small as their life is long
A family is standing their hard work in their hands
The mother holds the fruits from the earth
Whilst the father and children carry her across the land
Believe in the People
Believe in the People
Freedom of People
You are the People
Believe in the People
Believe in the People
Freedom of People
You are the People
